Volunteer Opportunities

Daily Help
Homeroom Moms and Dads – assists homeroom teachers with special projects.

Library Volunteers – Assists in checking out books and clerical tasks in the library.

Lunch Bunch – Helps to provide adequate and quality supervision for our children during the assigned lunch recess.

Yearbook - Help 8th grade teacher/ advisor compile each grade and school activities.

Educational
Book Fair – Yearly opportunity for children to purchase a wide variety of reading materials. Proceeds benefit school projects. Help is needed during the sale to assist children in making their selections. Merritt Books in Millbrook sponsors this yearly event.

Catholic Schools Week- Celebrate St. Joseph School with a week of different programs. Parent ambassadors are needed to be available for our OPEN HOUSE held during the week.

Marketing
Alumni Committee - A committee to help search for past graduates and research school history to help celebrate St. Joseph 50th Jubilee in 2007.

Public Relations – Keep St. Joseph in the NEWS. Newspaper articles are written for local paper and church bulletins.

Recruitment – Spread the GOOD NEWS about St. Joseph School to new families.

Social
Back to School Event – Held in September to promote the beginning of another wonderful school year. Help is needed to coordinate the Candlelight Dessert. This is a great way to meet new parents.

OPEN HOUSE – A special time to support St. Joseph School and to share your experience as a St. Joseph parent to prospective families.

Father /Daughter Dance – Held in February to spotlight that special bond of father, grandfather or uncle with that special young lady.

St. Joseph Dinner Dance – Honors the feast of St. Joseph held at Silo Ridge in Amenia. It is a great time to meet and greet friends old and new. It is also a nice way to build community among our parents and parish.

Lottery Calendar – A yearly calendar is printed with chances to with in the daily win 4 lottery. All this for $20.

Other
Pennies For Patients - This corporal work of mercy helps children with leukemia and lymphatic cancer. For 3 weeks, children bring in loose change which we collect. We have a writing project and word finds to help keep us motivated.
